Deandre Johnson, Tennessee football's top pass rusher, entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.

Johnson had 4½ sacks in 2020, tied for the team lead. The senior from Miami had 10 sacks in four season at Tennessee.

Johnson had a career showing in Tennessee's season-opening win at South Carolina on Sept. 26, 2020. He had six tackles and 2½ sacks with a forced fumble on one of the sacks to earn the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week award.

He is a graduate transfer.

Johnson is the seventh Vol to enter the transfer portal in December. He joined quarterback J.T. Shrout, quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, tight end Austin Pope, wide receiver Brandon Johnson, tight end Jordan Allen and outside linebacker Kivon Bennett.

Bennett also had 4½ sacks last season to match Johnson for the team lead.

Tennessee relied heavily on freshman Tyler Baron in 2020. The Vols sparingly used sophomore Roman Harrison and freshman Morven Joseph as backup outside linebackers.

UT signed junior-college outside linebacker Byron Young during the early signing period.
