There were several top performers in Tuscaloosa area boys high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week.

NON-FB TOP PERFORMERS:Tuscaloosa high school winter sports top performers: Holt's Julian Whitfield scores 32 points

Demarkis Giles, Pickens County football: Threw four touchdown passes in a 40-14 win over Marion County in the quarterfinals.

John Walker, Northridge basketball: Scored 22 points with 17 rebounds in a 65-56 win over Homewood.

Javion Taylor, Central basketball: Scored 28 points with six rebounds and four assists in a 68-43 win over Greensboro.

Paul Jones, Holt basketball: Scored 21 points with eight assists and seven rebounds in an 80-66 win over Northside.

Sam Murray, Tuscaloosa Christian basketball: Scored 14 points with nine rebounds in a 48-39 win over New Life Christian.

Max Stephenson, Gordo football: Had 17 tackles vs. Piedmont in a 27-14 quarterfinals loss.

Ty'Jarian Williams, Aliceville football: Ran for two touchdowns and completed 13 of 20 passes for 145 yards and one interception in a 26-22 quarterfinals loss to Pisgah.

Mills Powell, Tuscaloosa Academy football: Scored the lone touchdown for the Knights on a 7-yard pass reception from Preston Lancaster in a 35-7 loss at Fyffe.
