Gonzaga still No. 1, Big Ten dominates top of Ferris Mowers Men's Basketball Coaches Poll

There is limited movement in this week’s Ferris Mowers Men’s basketball coaches poll, though a couple of results over the weekend reshaped the top five.

Gonzaga and Baylor continue to maintain the first two spots in the Top 25, with the Zags again claiming all but four first-place votes. Michigan retains the third position after the Wolverines, coming off a lengthy COVID pause, overcame a slow first half to take down NO. 21 Wisconsin Sunday. The rest of the top five also has a Big Ten feel with Ohio State moving up to No. 4 and Illinois in a tie for fifth with Houston.

Michigan guard Franz Wagner (21) dribbles the ball against Wisconsin forward Tyler Wahl during the first half at the Kohl Center.

Villanova slips three places to No. 7 after a road loss to Creighton. The Bluejays made the biggest move forward this week on the strength of that victory, jumping five positions to No. 12. Virginia, Alabama and Oklahoma round out the top 10.

A couple of SEC squads take hits in the rankings as Missouri falls nine spots to No. 19 and Tennessee drops from No. 15 to No. 20. No. 16 Florida State and No. 18 South California rise a couple spots after successful weeks.

Kansas and Oregon rejoin the Top 25 in the last two slots, replacing UCLA and Purdue.
