Brian Kelly apologizes to Notre Dame football team for not sharing news of departure in person
Brian Kelly apologized to the Notre Dame football team late Monday night for not sharing the news of his departure from the program in person.
In a message obtained by The Athletics' Pete Sampson, Kelly wrote that he has more to share on the matter at the team's meeting Tuesday morning.
"I am flying back to South Bend tonight to be able to meet with you in the morning but the news broke late today and I am sorry you found out through social media or news reports," Kelly told the team about an hour after news broke that he was leaving for LSU.
