The University of Alabama football coaching staff named its players of the week from the 49-7 win over Southern Miss, with one player making the list on both offense and special teams.
That was Henry Ruggs III. Ruggs set a career high with 148 receiving yards on just four catches, two of those catches going for touchdowns. He is now third in school history in career receiving touchdowns with 21. Ruggs was also a special teams selection for two special teams tackles, one in punt coverage and one on kickoff.
The other offensive honorees were Najee Harris and Jedrick Wills Jr. Wills missed just one assignment in his 50 snaps; Harris ran 14 times for a season-high 114 yards, 7.9 yards per carry, in addition to a five-yard touchdown reception.
On defense, the honorees were Anfernee Jennings and Xavier McKinney. Jennings recorded five tackles, a sack and a pass breakup while adding a new role to his set of responsibilities. McKinney also had five tackles.
Joining Ruggs as special teams honorees were Slade Bolden and Jaylen Moody, Moody with two special teams tackles and Bolden with one.
