Alabama is sending 11 swimmers from its swimming and diving program to East Meadow, N.Y., at the Nassau County Aquatics Center this week, to compete in the U.S. Open.
The group headed to New York includes NCAA Champions and All-Americans Luke Kaliszak and Pavel Romanov, as well as All-Americans Laurent Bams, Robert Howard, Hannah Musser, Mia Nonnenberg, Christopher Reid and Bailey Scott. Alexis Preski, Temarie Tomley and Braxton Young are headed to the open as well.
Alabama will compete in 33 individual swims and two relays. The meet will kick off on Wednesday and run through Sunday. Nonnenberg will open in the 200-meter butterfly on Wednesday. Bams, Howard, Reid, Scott and Tomley will open the meet with the prelims of the 100-meter freestyle on the opening day as well.
