FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Alabama women’s golf team opened the fall portion of the 2017-18 season with a first round 4-under par 284 to sit in fourth place at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the par-72, 6,335-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course.
Junior Lauren Stephenson and sophomore Kristen Gillman paced the Tide on Friday. Stephenson fired the low round for UA with a 4-under 68 and is tied for sixth. Gillman turned in 2-under 70 and is tied for 12th.
Senior Lakareber Abe, who won the event in 2015, finished with an even par 72 and is tied for 24th. Junior Cheyenne Knight, the 2016 Mason Rudolph individual champion, carded a 2-over 74.
Arkansas tops the team leaderboard after a 15-under 273. Host Vanderbilt (275) is two shots back at 13-under.
