ATLANTA – Alabama golfer Wilson Furr staged a dramatic come-from-behind victory to collect the match-clinching point and lift the No. 4-ranked men’s golf team to a 3&2 victory over top-ranked Oklahoma State in the semifinals of the East Lake Cup on Tuesday. The Crimson Tide women fell to Stanford 4&1 in its semifinal contest and will take on the Arizona Wildcats in Wednesday’s consolation match, while the men will play the championship match against SEC rival Auburn.
Along with Furr, senior Davis Riley defeated Zach Bauchou 4&3 and freshman Prescott Butler defeated Haywood Butler, 3&2, to record the Tide’s three points in the match.
On the women’s side, junior Kenzie Wright picked up the Tide’s lone win on the day when she took down the Cardinal’s Aline Krauter with a birdie on the 19th hole.
