BIRMINGHAM – Crimson Tide men’s tennis players won two doubles matches and three singles matches on Saturday at Samford University’s Samford Round Robin. Play continues through Sunday.
Alabama winners Saturday included Sam Fischer and Alexey Nesterov in doubles, as well as Jeremy Gschwendtner and Marcelo Sepulveda Garza. The Tide’s singles wins were by Nesterov, Sepulveda Garza and Fischer.
Two Alabama women’s players, Alba Cortina Pou and Moka Ito, are in Tulsa, Okla., where they both lost their singles matches in the ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying draw first round Saturday. They’ll play consolation matches Sunday.
