LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Alabama’s Vincent Kiprop led from wire-to-wire en route to claiming his second individual men’s title at the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Kentucky on Friday.

The Alabama men produced three finishers among the top 10 individuals and finished second in the team standings. No. 11-ranked Ole Miss won its second consecutive SEC championship.

The Crimson Tide women finished fifth.

Kiprop won the 8K race in 22:51.6, just ahead of his teammate, Gilbert Kigen (22:55.4) who finished second. Both earned All-SEC honors with their finishes. Noel Rotich placed 10th (23:21.3) to become Second-Team All-SEC and earn Freshman All-SEC honors.

Mercy Chelangat was All-SEC Second-Team. She finished 10th (20:38.1) in the women’s race.
